Washington Hollow Rod & Gun Club is a private outdoor shooting range located on the border of Pleasant Valley and Millbrook, New York, just seconds from Taconic State Parkway.

The Washington Hollow Rod and Gun club was formed and incorporated in 1939. The club was originated by 9 residents of the village of Millbrook. Some of which owned their own Construction businesses. In the beginning, the club met homes of members and later at a local Restaurant/tavern in the village of Millbrook called the Grape Shade.

In 1946, the Club purchased 23 acres of land on the corner Tinkertown and Davis Road, just off the Parkway at Washington Hollow, New York. In 1947, they began construction of and completed a 24 X 30 ft. club house, using surplus lumber collected from large construction jobs of the originating members. The Club house was made up of a Main meeting room, a kitchen, and bathroom facilities. The building is heated by force hot air. In the Past year, with additional work performed, the inside of the Club was paneled a new lighting installed. Meeting are held the second Tuesday of each month, with occasional Special meetings The Club has facilities for a Shooting Range, both Handgun, Shotgun and Rifle, and is contemplating a Trap Range.

A: Fill out the membership application form. New memberships are approved monthly by the board.

A: Yes, we ask that all applicants be sponsored by an existing member in good standing. If you don’t know anyone yet, stop by an event or meeting to introduce yourself.

A: Guests are welcome when accompanied by a member. You must sign them in at the clubhouse and ensure they follow all safety protocols.
Firearms & Safety
Q: What safety equipment is required at the range?
A: Eye and ear protection are mandatory at all times. Firearms must be transported unloaded and only loaded when on the firing line.
Q: Are there age restrictions for using the range?
A: Shooters must be at least 12 years old and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian if under 18.
Q: Do you offer gun safety training?
A: Yes, we regularly host certified training courses covering gun safety, hunter education, and responsible firearm handling.
Q: Can I launch my own boat?
A: Small, non-motorized boats like canoes or kayaks are permitted with prior approval. Life jackets are required.

A: Some events, like the Youth Fishing Derby or Hunter Safety Course, are open to non-members. Others are exclusive to members and their guests.
